Today begins a new chapter in my life. A chapter of getting back to my fighting weight. Looking (and more importantly, feeling) good.

You may have read my post about the phenomena known as "Basketball Belly." It's an ugly fact of life. But, my vow is the same:

Vow #1: No shopping until I have a grip on this whole weight-loss and toning business.
Vow #2: Share each step of the journey (the good, the bad, and the ugly -- and let's face it, you're here to read mainly about the ugly, right?) with you.

Monday, March 15th, 2010 -- I gave up soda cold turkey. 3 weeks, no soda.........and counting. Man, this is difficult. I still dream about an icy cold Dr. Pepper in a frosty mug...*sigh*

Saturday, August 7th, 2010 -- To catch up, I stopped giving up soda, gained more weight than ever, and felt like crap for a while. Late last month, after finishing painting every danged room in the new house, I mentally shook myself and resolved to do better. I gave up soda (again, and for good this time) and started following the Curves Six-Week Solution Diet again. I've lost 16 pounds due to the combination of diet and exercise and vow to continue losing. I'll keep you updated...
